Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, a forthcoming action role-playing video game, was developed by the Canadian video game developer called Ubisoft Quebec; the publisher of the game is Ubisoft.

It’s the 20th game and the 11th major instalment in the series of the Assassin’s Creed and the successor to Assassin’s Creed Origins, which was released in 2017. The game is set to be released all over the world for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows on 5 October 2018.

Gameplay

The game puts more emphasis on the elements of role-playing than preceding games in the series. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will contain branching quests, dialogue options plus multiple endings.

Features

Players will be capable of choosing the main character’s gender, adopting the role of Kassandra or Alexios. Also, players will have the capability of developing romantic relationships with characters who are non-playable of both genders, whether they opt to play as Kassandra or Alexios.

Notoriety System

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features notoriety system whereby mercenaries will start chasing after the player if they’ve committed crimes such as stealing or killing non-playable characters.

Starting the Game

In the game, both Kassandra and Alexios commence as a mercenary and the Spartan warrior king Leonidas I descendant. They inherit his spear, which is broken and shaped into a blade and turned into a weapon that gives the player special capabilities in combat.

Skill Tree System

The game also uses the skill tree system that enables players to unlock new capabilities. The system includes “hunter”, which improves the archery of the player character; “warrior”, which places emphasis on combat; as well as “assassin”, which mainly focus on stealth. It replaces the system that was used in Origins, which gave players a series of passive capabilities.

Hitbox Combat System

The hitbox combat system, which was introduced in Origins, will return in Odyssey; it has been expanded to grant players access to 4 different special skills after the capability bar fills up. The skills include beckoning a rain of arrows plus powerful kick for knocking opponents off-balance, and they are the same as the “Overpower” mechanic that was introduced in Origins, which allowed players to use a strong finishing move in combat.
